Waycon Manufacturing Ltd. was established in 1987 to research and develop new and innovative products, with a goal to set up a manufacturing facility and supply niche markets. Today Waycon provides a full range of services from design engineering and manufacturing to turn key finished machinery operation.

Specialists in the design and manufacture of industrial equipment, Waycon serves a wide range of industries. These include: Forestry (logging & sawmill), Mining, Environmental, Oil & Gas, Bulk Materials Storage & Handling, and Construction.

Waycon is independent and diverse employing the expertise and skills of a variety of professions and trades people. These include: Engineers, Design Drafts persons, Computer Programmers, Machinists, Fabricators, Electricians, Welders, Painters, Mechanical Technicians (drives, hydraulics, pneumatics).

Waycon has the ability to manufacture products that are consistently within predetermined tolerances. Products are typically steel fabricated, machined and welded items, that are often integrated with mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, computerized and radio control components.

Waycon Product Line

Heavy Equipment guarding and attachments for the Forestry and Construction industries. The products are used for road deactivation, water shed reclamation, silvi culture, logging, tree harvesting / processing, fish habitat restoration, demolition, road building, commercial and residential site preparation.

Customer Product Line Manufacture

Short to medium runs of specialized machinery are usually manufactured under long term manufacturing agreements and contracts. For example, processor delimbers, landfill cover deployment machines.

Custom Manufacture/Repair/Modification

Single unit manufacture or refurbishing of component parts, industrial

equipment, complete material handling complexes, systems and structures. For example, sawmill equipment, mining equipment, steel frame structures, beams and columns, tanks, conveyors, bins, hoppers cyclones, chutes, drive systems, hydraulics, prototypes.

All departments working as a team contribute to the design, manufacture, and repair or modification of a broad range of products.

Engineering, Design and Drafting

The team utilizes state of the art computer aided drafting software to generate working 3D computer models for the development of prototypes, manufacturing drawings and computer numerical control (CNC) programs. Our engineering team has expertise in structural and mechanical engineering and is experienced in a wide range of industries. These include: Forestry, Mining, Oil & Gas, Bulk Storage, Logging & Saw Mill, and Waste Processing Equipment.

Production

The production shops utilize 30,000 square feet of building space and employs 38 skilled trades people and equipment operators. The production personnel work from engineered computer generated drawings and CNC programs. Manual and CNC programmable production equipment is used in the manufacturing process to produce a wide range of products. Component parts are systematically produced in stages by several departments: plate cutting, saw, machine, detail, fabrication, welding, electrical, hydraulic, sandblast, paint and shipping & receiving. Production operates from 7:00 AM to 2:00 AM Monday through Thursday and 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM Friday.

Quality Control/Quality Assurance

Waycon's commitment to provide quality product and craftsmanship is supported with ISO 9001 policies and procedures. Quality assurance policy and procedures are managed by non production personnel to ensure no conflict of interest compromises standards.

The company started in 1987 with 2 employees and has grown to a full time
staff of 46.

1)     In October 2000 the company purchased a new manufacturing facility on 2.4
         acres with 30,000 sq ft of manufacturing space. 

2)     Waycon has an established and independent manufacturing facility providing
         services from engineering design, product development and manufacture, to
         turn key equipment operation. 

3)     The principals have successfully implemented a long term strategy resulting in
         good margins while increasing market share and managing steady growth.

4)     The type of business has changed from jobbing and traditional bid style
         structural steel work, to include long term contractual supply of simple and
         sophisticated equipment for niche markets. 

5)     Waycon manufactured product is known as being of good quality to the extent
         that most of its business is generated through word of mouth.

6)     Waycon has invested heavily to develop its own line of products (heavy
         equipment guarding & attachments). 

7)     Waycon's customer base has spread from local business to clients through out
         North America. 

8)     Waycon’s market is global and reaches end users in Europe, Asia, Australia, New
         Zealand, South America, China and the United States. 

9)     Waycon has successfully established vendor confidence and negotiated
         consignment supply agreements for raw material and out sourced parts. 

10)   The company is known and respected in the industry for its business ethics
         and professionalism.

Administration

Waycon administration staff is networked with freight companies, shipping lines, customs and insurance brokers to provide a trouble free order delivery service to customers and end users across borders internationally.

Engineering/Design/Drafting

This department can provide a complete service from an idea concept through design and prototype manufacture to prototype testing. Waycon utilizes multiple software packages including Auto Cad, Cad Key, Solid Works and Pro Nest.
